COVID-19 Guidelines for Reassembling

COVID-19 Guidelines for Reassembling

The Southern Delaware Choral had to suspend all activities in March, 2020,
cancelling all spring rehearsals and spring concert due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since choral singing is a social activity that requires large groups to gather in small places to sing, it was dangerous to gather until a vaccine was produced. Now that many people have access and are able to get the COVID-19 vaccine, groups are now able to reconvene in a safer environment.

CDC data reveals that COVID-19 vaccines are effective and are a critical tool to bring the pandemic under control. It also suggests that COVID-19 vaccines offer protection against most SARS-Cov-2 variants such as the Delta Variant.
The Delaware Division of the Arts is not maintaining guidance on vaccines for organizations reconvening. Therefore, based on current CDC data, the precedence of other groups, such as the Chester River Chorale, Epworth Choir, Delaware Winds, and Temple University Choirs, the Board of Directors and Artistic Staff have concluded that all members must be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination when we reconvene on Tuesday, 8/31/21. You will not need to wear a mask. If you are not vaccinated due to a medical or religious reason, you must wear a mask and provide documentation of weekly negative COVID-19 test results. We will continue to focus on the science, current statistics and CDC guidelines and adjust our mandates accordingly.

We greatly care for all of you and want to keep us safe and healthy. If we all do our part, we will not only be protecting  ourselves, but we will be protecting others and their families. Looking forward to reconvening on 8/31/21! Bring your proof of vaccination!
